Any enterprise sooner or later faces the problem of recycling computers and office equipment. Due to the content of any electronics hazardous to health and the ecosystem of chemical elements and compounds, the Ukrainian state has recently tightened control over the process of disposal of such equipment.

Therefore, today the processing of office equipment is a popular service. But to provide such a service can only special service centers-companies that have all the permits for the collection, use, disposal, and transportation of waste electronics. Unfortunately, there are not many such companies in Ukraine.
As explained by the Director of the Department for customer service of Manzana, one of the leaders of the recycling market, this service can be divided into several steps.

“the First is to apply for recycling,” Anna says. – The representative of the organization sends us an application for work on the disposal of office equipment. Most often these operations are carried out by the office Manager of the customer company or an accountant.

At the second stage, the parties sign a special contract. It is important to have an experienced lawyer, who will coordinate the legal basis of the company-the utilizer with the norms of the domestic legislation. If something is wrong to issue, for both parties to the contract there are risks of getting a fine.
The third step is the recycling of office equipment. Electronics are taken to a special plant, where it is disassembled into homogeneous materials. In the same place without harm to the environment removed dangerous elements: cadmium, lead, mercury, arsenic, etc.

” as a customer you should require from the contractor acts confirming the process of proper disposal of technical equipment. I want to sum up that the process of recycling office electronics should be trusted only by professional companies, confirming its status as a preliminary cooperation with large customers. Best of all, if it were international socially responsible corporations”, – the expert recommends.

Everyone knows what a fire extinguisher looks like and what it is for. According to the fire safety rules, fire extinguishers should be in every office and even in every office. And most companies comply with these requirements. But, as it turned out, this is not enough for that in an emergency situation, office workers are not confused and still used the fire extinguisher for its intended purpose.

According to the sociological survey, about 30% of adults do not know how to use a fire extinguisher, not to mention the practical application. After all, the theory is, of course, good, but in emergency situations, when there is no time to read the instructions, people are lost, start to panic, which can lead to terrible consequences.
That’s why the employees of Dr Reddy’s, a leading manufacturer of pharmaceuticals, decided to approach this issue with all the responsibility inherent in true patriots
his business.
< blockquote>“our company’s mission Is to provide people with affordable and innovative medicines to help people live healthy lives. In achieving this goal, we are guided by the company’s values, one of which is security. We try to do this at all levels: from the safe production of high-quality drugs to ensure the safety of employees in a single office, ” said Irina Peksheva, engineer for labor protection of Dr Reddy’s.

It was Irina who appealed to the company of MANZAN with a request to instruct on the intended use of fire extinguishers. As the Director of the company MANZANA Anna Solovey said,”we are happy to take up the organization of this event, as in the current situation, such an experience can be useful to everyone.”
According to Anna, the company MANZAN quite often provides its customers with services for recharging or purchasing fire extinguishers. “Our customers have theoretical knowledge in this field, responsible for fire safety regularly attend training courses on fire safety. But with the practical skills we are faced for the first time.”
The training took place outside the city on a specialized fire-testing ground and consisted of 2 parts: theory and, of course, practice. As part of the theoretical part, the employees of Dr Reddy’s were introduced to the main types of fire extinguishers, their area of application and features of extinguishing fires and fires.
The organizers approached the practical part with full responsibility.

“in order for people to fully experience the scale and features of the fire, for the practice was given a full workplace of any office employee: a table, a chair and a TV screen (as a replacement for a computer),” said a representative of the company MANZANA.< / blockquote>
To set fire to the equipment provided was not work, which tells about the combustibility of materials. So, the fire is, it’s time to extinguish. All in turn dressed in a protective suit, gave up a fire extinguisher and sent to fight the elements.
“In practice, everything was much more difficult than it seemed on the theoretical part,” admitted the Director of the company MANZANA, who also decided to feel all the features of fire fighting.
All employees of Dr Reddy’s coped with the task set before them and were able to extinguish the blazing fire. I would like to congratulate the cadets with the instruction and hope that the acquired skills will never be useful to them.

Illegal electronic waste dumps that kill the environment is a new and rapidly growing problem in Ukraine. On the air of one of the TV channels said the Chairman of the organization “Ukrainian environmental League” Tatiana Tymochko.

According to her, in the territory of Ukraine of such illegal grounds more than one hundred. The main threat, in addition to plastic, are chemical elements such as mercury, cadmium, arsenic and lead contained in office equipment.
According to Tatiana Tymochko, disposal of this kind of waste in Ukraine is not worked out enough at the legislative level. This prevents the creation of business in this area. In the West, the disposal of electronics-a very profitable business, responsible for the implementation of processing is the manufacturer of products. In Ukraine, today there are very few companies that process outdated office equipment to homogeneous materials. Only a few “daredevils” take up such an enterprise.

“in the situation with the utilization of electronics, a special place is taken by the environmental awareness of Ukrainians, — comments on the situation Anna Solovey, Director of the Department for customer service of the company” Manzana ” — one of the market leaders in the field of processing of office equipment. – Often people and companies just do not want to take out their system units and monitors and pay money, so office equipment is simply thrown into garbage cans, which is absolutely impossible to do”.< / blockquote>
According to Anna, there are cases when the whole enterprises legally obliged to hand over written-off devices to the processing company secretly take out equipment to spontaneous dumps.

” but probably few people know that just one discarded battery in a trash can pollutes with heavy metals about 20 square meters of land. Therefore, our task is to explain that the uncontrolled self — removal of old equipment is a crime against humanity,” Anna Solovey is convinced.< / blockquote>
According to the expert, the legal framework of this sphere is not sufficiently developed, and even if the companies make disposal, there are still risks to do something wrong and be fined. Therefore, it is necessary to conclude contracts for such services only with reliable partners who have the necessary legal competence and specialize in the disposal of such equipment. Like today must operate the company for the disposal of office equipment?
First of all, the utilization of electronics is the disassembly of equipment, which does not generate new waste: all kinds of raw materials are sent for processing to specialized enterprises.
For example, plastic should be understood by colors and types, because some of its varieties can not be mixed. “For example, plastic cases of monitors in Ukraine make parts of car headlights and buckets, other types — bottles, and other types — become part of tires. Scrap metal is segmented into ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals, ” the expert says. The removal of toxic elements such as mercury and cadmium, which are contained in old monitors and television sets, should have a special place. “In addition, with proper processing, the glass of the tubes can be processed into absolutely safe products, such as mirrors,” — said Anna.
According to the expert, Ukraine needs a comprehensive legislative regulation of the sphere of electronics disposal. You can look for an example to Japan, where every citizen is obliged to take the equipment and pay money. For example, to get rid of the average size of the TV, the Japanese need to pay more than $ 30. The whole procedure should be documented in the post office, specifying the name, address and code number of the goods. Therefore, buying equipment, the citizens of the land of the rising sun, make a commitment to cover the cost of its processing. The recycling facilities are owned by the manufacturers themselves.
“Initially, in Japan, processing plants were not regarded as profitable, but soon the removal of certain elements from the written-off equipment turned out to be profitable from an economic point of view. The profit goes to the modernization of technology.” Proper disposal of washing machines and refrigerators gives Japan over 1 million tons of iron and about 50 thousand tons of non-ferrous metal per year. Ukraine is now only on the way to such results

Manzana, one of the market leaders in the field of office equipment processing, reports about signing of the contract with the international chemical and pharmaceutical concern Bayer. Under the agreement, several hundred units of computer and office equipment were utilized.

Manzana experts note that this cooperation should be an example for all companies and enterprises using office equipment, as the issue of disposal of obsolete equipment among many Ukrainian companies is now very acute.

” the disposal Procedure is performed according to all the rules of both Ukrainian and European legislation. We understand that legal support of such processes is a zone of special responsibility, so we pay special attention to it”, – says Anna Solovey, Director of the Department for work with clients of Manzana.< / blockquote>

According to her, all decommissioned electronics are divided and sorted into homogeneous materials. All the received materials, in turn, are sent for processing, which allows them to be used in the production of new equipment.

Recall, today in Ukraine the volume of purchases of office electronics should be a balanced decision, because the issue of its subsequent disposal can bring a lot of trouble in the legal aspect, in terms of unplanned financial costs, and as the execution of the order.

” these trends are due to the tightening of state control over the process of disposal of waste office equipment. Therefore, the office, purchasing the appropriate equipment, should determine what amount of equipment will be optimal in the context of its efficiency during use, as well as in the context of its disposal in the future—, – says Anna Solovey< / blockquote>
